My Hilton HHonors Diamond for a Day Getaway in New York City

Early check-in, VIP chocolates and Free Wi-Fi with AT&T are just a few of the perks I had a chance to experience during my Hilton HHonors Diamond for a Day getaway in New York City.

My Diamond-member experience at the Hilton Times Square was incredible, I started the day with a New York bagel and of course some hot coffee from Ess-a-Bagel.

Then I was off to visit the historic Empire State Building.

On May 1,1931, President Hoover pressed a button in Washington, DC, which turned on the Empire State Building's lights and officially opened the building.

Even though it was a very foggy day in New York, you could still make out some of the famous landmarks and streets below.

It's fascinating to think that this building has been in more than 250 movies including my favorite, King Kong. I did see a few old banana peels lying around ;)

What's your favorite Empire State Building movie?

After descending the 86 floors (it has 102 floors total) I was getting thirsty...

So I made my way to The Chelsea Brewing Company, Manhattan's largest microbrewery, for a tour and tasting.

The staff was very knowable and friendly, explaining all that goes into making so many different kinds of beers. I think I tried them all, after about five I lost count...

So after an afternoon of drinking what do you do? You strap on some skates...of course!

I've always wanted to go skating on the world-famous Rockefeller Center Ice Rink and with my premium pass, I was ready to go!

After a few laps around the rink, I needed a rest and wanted to explore the Igloo tent and enjoy some Hot Chocolate, cookies and my favorite, candy canes!

After eating my body weight in holiday goodies, I was a little worried that the Rockefeller Center elevator wouldn't be able to carry me all the way up to...The Top of The Rock!

It was time for some more dizzying heights. After another elevator ride to 67th and 69th floors, I checked out the outdoor terraces then made my way to the tip-top (of the Rock).

The 70th floor, the uppermost level, an unobstructed 360-degree view of New York City and beyond. (if there wasn't so much fog) but even through the fog, the views were amazing!

All those elevator rides were making me hungry so I headed back to the Hilton Times Square where I enjoyed a nice dinner in the Restaurant Above.

By the way, my room had the best view I've ever had of New York City!

I got back on the free  Wi-Fi from AT&T (More Smartphone users have chosen AT&T than any other wireless carrier) to update my Twitter and Facebook friends on my wonderful Hilton HHonors Diamond for a Day getaway! (and to make them jealous, LOL)

What an unbelievable day...oh yea, and it was my Birthday! :-)
