Ernest Hemingway's Polydactyl (six-toed) Kitty Cat / by JD Andrews

While shooting GoingSocialTV in Key West earlier this year we made a stop at the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum which is home to around 40 to 50 polydactyl (six-toed) cats.

This “Hemingway cat” was taking a "cat nap" on one of the beds in the house during our tour. Shhhhhhh

Normally, cats have 5 front toes and 4 back toes. Polydactyl cats have been extremely popular as ship's cats and Hemingway was given a white six-toed cat by a ship's captain.
