I just returned from Laos, a country I've never traveled to before, it's number Seventy seven, wait, no Seventy eight, maybe Seventy nine....For some reason the exact number of countries that I've 'explored' was really important to me a few years ago. I'm not sure why...did it make me feel more important? Did it prove that I'm a 'world traveler'? Did it make me any more interesting? Smarter? Taller? Richer? NO!
Plus how do you (if you want to) measure what countries you 'visited' - was it a layover and you just were in the airport, does that count? You spent one day there, got pics of all the touristy things and left, does that count?
Who is to say?
One thing I do know, Contients are much easier to count and my last one (like many travelers) is Antarctica!
I suggest an Antarctica tweet-up...Who's in? :-)
What are your thoughts about counting the countries you have vistited? Do you keep track???
